Arrow Acquires U.K. Networking, Security Distributor
Last year, Sphinx had about $82.5 million in sales while servicing more than 1,000 resellers across the U.K., according to Andy Bryant, president of Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions, the group where Sphinx will reside.
“This acquisition builds on our strategy to increase security and networking capabilities and expands our presence in Europe,” said Bryant in a statement. “Sphinx further strengthens our relationships with leading suppliers through increased market share, the addition of new lines, and a high-performance, technically strong sales team.”
Sphinx carries vendors, including Aladdin, Alcatel Lucent, Clearswift, GuardianEdge, Juniper Networks, McAfee, Meru Networks, Multi-Touch, MXI Security, Perle Systems, Radware, RSA, SafeNet, Siemens, SCO, Swivel, Trend Micro, WatchGuard and Webroot. Several of the vendors are new relationships for Arrow.
The Melville, N.Y.-based distributor only carries McAfee, Radware, RSA and SafeNet in North America, while it also has Juniper, McAfee, Radware, RSA, SafeNet, Trend Micro and Watchguard in Europe.
