Sage Continues CRM Sales Management Reorganization

The software vendor named Joe Langner as executive vice president of midmarket and CRM solutions, effective this week. Langner, who reports to Sage North America president and CEO Pascal Houillon, is responsible for Sage's midmarket business strategy and initiatives for both ERP and CRM applications.

Langner came to Sage from Ellie Mae, a developer of software for mortgage lenders and brokers, where he was chief operating officer and chief sales officer.

Last month four CRM sales executives departed amidst a management shakeup, including CRM Solutions Division vice president Jeff Gregorec; senior director Seth Ellerston; and directors Jeffrey Woods and Robert Fierros.

It isn't clear whether the executives were dismissed or chose to leave amidst the reorganization. The changes were disclosed in a note from Houillon to channel partners who resell the company's Sage SalesLogix and SageCRM applications. Houillon simply thanked the managers "for their contributions to our success over the years" and wished them well, without disclosing what triggered the changes.

Sage doesn't break out sales of its CRM products. This week Sage said it is now bundling its SageCRM applications with its Sage ERP MAS 90 and 200 application sets.

Houillon, previously CEO of Sage France, took over as head of Sage North America earlier this year following the retirement of Sue Swenson who served as Sage North America CEO for three years.

Sage North America and Sage France are both part of U.K.-based Sage Group plc.
