FishNet Security Acquires Top Juniper Partner TorreyPoint
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The move combines two of the largest Juniper partners in North America and strengthens FishNet's networking offerings. Torreypoint was named Juniper's Partner of the Year for the Americas in 2012; FishNet, meanwhile, earned the same honor in 2010.
Both solution providers have experience rapid growth in recent years. New York-based TorreyPoint earned a spot on CRN's Fast Growth 2011 list with approximately $34 million in revenue behind a two-year growth rate of 325 percent. FishNet, Overland Park, Kan., said it has nearly tripled in size over the past five years.
"One of our biggest challenges has been keeping up with our customers' demand for experienced engineers, consultants and trainers," said Gary Fish, founder and CEO of FishNet Security, in a statement. "The acquisition of TorreyPoint dramatically expands our resources and creates one of the largest dedicated infrastructure solution teams in the country."
FishNet said the acquisition will have a minimal impact on the more than 400 TorreyPoint customers that will now be added to FishNet's own client list. The security-focused solution provider also said it plans to leverage the strong partnerships TorreyPoint has with other vendors such as Palo Alto Networks and Brocade.
"It was a relationship that made a lot of sense," said John Van Blaricum, vice president of marketing at FishNet. "It expanded our infrastructure expertise and gives us a lot of talented people. We've got a very solid enterprise infrastructure team and that will definitely add to it."
Van Blaricum said most of TorreyPoint's staff will be joining FishNet. He also said FishNet will continue to explore additional acquisitions where it makes sense.
