NTT Data Services To Buy Canadian IT Consulting Company Sierra Systems

NTT Data Services said Monday it has agreed to buy a Canadian IT consulting company to expand its footprint in North America.

Sierra Systems, Vancouver, B.C., offers a full range of IT consulting, systems integration, and application managed services across Canada, according to the company. Founded in 1966, Sierra Systems has 700 professionals and has developed deep expertise in its targeted industries to strengthen organizations’ operational performance.

“Sierra Systems’ reputation as a trusted adviser in Canada is evidenced by the strength of their client relationships, many of which have spanned decades,” Bob Pryor, CEO of Plano, Texas-based NTT Data Services, said in a statement. “With the addition of Sierra Systems’ talented team, we’ll expand our ability to deliver innovation and business outcomes to clients in Canada and extend our North American delivery capabilities. Growth prospects are very strong in Canada, so this is an attractive market as we continue to grow globally.”

Financial terms of the deal, which is expected to close in later in the year, were not disclosed. TM Capital served as the exclusive financial adviser to The Sierra-Cedar Group in connection with this transaction, the company said in a statement.

In addition to inheriting the company’s 52-year history, long-term client relationships and respected brand, Sierra Systems will expand NTT Data’s digital services capabilities and bolster its talent in core areas, such as Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle and ServiceNow, the company said.

NTT Data Services is a division of NTT Data, which is one of the world’s largest solution providers with more than 118,000 employees and headquarters in Tokyo.

Earlier this year, the company said it is bringing the company’s three companies under one umbrella called NTT Inc.

NTT is the parent company of Dimension Data, No. 9 on the 2018 CRN Solution Provider 500.
