CSC Bolsters Cloud Portfolio With VMware Hybrid Cloud Brokering Solution Partnership
CSC has deepened its extensive decade-long partnership with VMware by adding a hybrid cloud-brokering solution from the company to its portfolio, the companies said Thursday.
The partnership move brings VMware's vCloud Hybrid Service into the CSC portfolio. The benefit of the partnership is that it will allow users to transfer workloads easily between the Hybrid Service, CSC BizCloud, CSC CloudCompute or other cloud offerings.
The move further enhances CSC's October acquisition of enterprise cloud management company ServiceMesh, which signified a major CSC cloud push. The ServiceMesh program allows for a single point of control over enterprise applications in the cloud, giving immense agility to clients in the cloud, as well as automating the deployment and management of the applications in a cloud environment.

"VMware vCloud Hybrid Service is ideal for VMware customers moving workloads from traditional data centers to the cloud. ServiceMesh enables these same customers to eliminate application change requirements when targeting other non-VMware based workloads and applications for the cloud. This demonstrates the real value of hybrid cloud," said Eric Pulier, CSC vice president and general manager, cloud, in a statement.
Bill Fathers, VMware senior vice president and general manager, Hybrid Cloud Services Business Unit, said in a statement that the move will provide the flexibility that CSC is looking for. The hybrid cloud-brokering solution lets CSC mimic private cloud environments as it shifts workloads seamlessly between public and private clouds.
"Building on our long-standing partnership, we are pleased to work closely with CSC to help organizations realize the value of the hybrid cloud, which can remove traditional barriers to innovation, and help accelerate new application time-to-market, all while enhancing the relationship between IT and the business," Fathers said in a statement.
CSC said that more partnerships around the cloud are expected in the coming months as the company continues to push forward into the cloud in the channel.
