Eaton Doubling Down On Software Solutions, Training To Drive MSP Services In 2018
Data center powerhouse Eaton is aggressively focusing its product roadmap and training around software management solutions in 2018 aimed at providing managed service providers (MSPs) more tools and skills to win services deals.
More than 600 channel partners have already taken advantage of Eaton's software-focused Learning Management Training System program targeting MSPs, said Stephanie Durden, partner life cycle marketing manager for Eaton at XChange Solution Provider 2018.
"We've had 602 participants go through the training already -- it's quick, it’s easy," said Durden. "They're able to learn about the products and apply these principals and take care of their customers, and in the end, make more money."

Eaton's MSP Program includes training on the company's software management products, such as its Intelligent Power Manager, Visual Power Manager and PredictPulse. Eaton, who made CRN's 2018 Data Center 100 list, is striving to enable MSPs to better identify and sell power management solutions in the market this year.
"It means a better revenue stream for our resellers, providing your customers with a complete solution – you're not leaving money on the table," said Durden.
One of Eaton's most popular software product is the Intelligent Power Manager that enables partners to remotely monitor and manage multiple devices across a customer's network from a single interface. The software also has the ability to suspend non-critical virtual machines, consolidate critical virtual machines and shut down unused servers to extend battery runtime.
From a single network closet to hyper-scale, Cleveland-based Eaton offers products and services around power protection, control and automation, lighting and security, structural and wiring devices.
"We're excited about 2018. You'll see more about our MSP program in our next couple of months," said Durden.
