SAP MSP Channel Consolidation: Syntax Acquires Illumiti
‘Our top priority when looking for a company to help us expand our functional SAP capabilities was finding one that was equally ... entrepreneurial and customer-centric. Illumiti was the obvious choice, and we are excited to collaborate with them and further their growth in the industry,’ says Syntax Global CEO Christian Primeau.
Managed cloud provider Syntax Tuesday unveiled its acquisition of Illumiti, a major SAP systems integration and management consultant and an SAP Platinum partner.
No terms were disclosed for the acquisition.
This is the fifth acquisition for Montreal-based Syntax, which partners with SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and others to bring private, public and hybrid cloud solutions, services and managed services to clients.

Syntax’s most recent acquisition was Linke, a European provider of services for migrating SAP environments to the AWS cloud. That acquisition happened just two months ago.
Toronto-based Illumiti brings custom-fit SAP software solutions to customers worldwide via offices in the U.S., Canada and Switzerland.
Executives at Syntax, which is listed in the Elite 150 of CRN’s Managed Service Provider 500, were unavailable to discuss the acquisition in detail.
However, Illumiti founder and CEO Nir Orbach told CRN via email that becoming part of Syntax was the next logical step in its journey to become a leading SAP partner in North America and globally.
“Together, we will be able to provide all of our clients with an even greater range of services and depth of expertise, enabling them to drive growth and realize their vision,” Orbach wrote.
Illumiti customers will be able to leverage Syntax’s cloud infrastructure and managed services offerings, while Syntax customers will have access to Illumiti’s SAP consulting, support and resell services in North America, giving them a one-stop shop for more of the SAP and cloud services they require, Orbach wrote.
“We’re also very excited to be able to leverage Syntax’s significant experience with iRPA [intelligent robotic process automation] and IIoT [industrial IoT] in order to offer even greater value from our extensive industry templates,” he wrote. “These synergies and the desire by many SAP customers to migrate their platforms to SAP’s S/4HANA and RISE offering are sure to drive significant growth for our business as we join forces.“
Syntax Global CEO Christian Primeau in a statement called his company a boutique partner at scale with deep entrepreneurial roots.
“Our top priority when looking for a company to help us expand our functional SAP capabilities was finding one that was equally ... entrepreneurial and customer-centric,” Primeau said. “Illumiti was the obvious choice, and we are excited to collaborate with them and further their growth in the industry.”
Illumiti going forward is an autonomous Syntax company. It brings over 250 employees to Syntax.
