9 New HP EliteBook G7 Business Laptops To Know About
HP has brought major updates to its 2020 EliteBook lineup around portability, connectivity and battery life.
HP Inc. is going big with its 2020 launch for the business-friendly EliteBook notebook series.
The seventh-generation EliteBook series will offer nine laptops in all, across the premium EliteBook x360 1000 series, the AMD-powered EliteBook 805 series and the mainstream EliteBook 800 series.

HP said many of the enhancements in the EliteBook G7 series are aimed squarely at meeting the work-from-home computing need, with key updates around portability, connectivity, battery life and conferencing.
What follows are details on HP's nine new EliteBook G7 laptops.
EliteBook x360 1000 G7 Models
HP is updating its top-tier commercial notebooks with the upcoming launch of the EliteBook x360 1030 G7 and EliteBook x360 1040 G7.
Key updates to the notebooks include the addition of a 5G connectivity option, AI-based noise reduction (to minimize background noise during conferencing) and massive battery life (up to 29 hours on a charge for the x360 1040 G7).
The form factors of the notebooks have also been redesigned to be 6.3 percent smaller this time around, and the 13.3-inch EliteBook x360 1030 G7 offers the "smallest footprint in a 13-inch business convertible," according to HP. The x360 1030 G7 and the 14-inch EliteBook x360 1040 G7 also include slim bezels around their screens for an impressive 89 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Other key features for both notebooks include an optional Sure View Reflect integrated privacy screen that comes with brightness of 1,000 nits, a convertible touch screen with FHD or UHD resolution and strong performance via 10th-generation Intel Core processors and up to 32 GB of RAM.
HP's EliteBook x360 1030 G7 and x360 1040 G7 are planned for availability in July. Pricing was not disclosed.
EliteBook 805 G7 Models
With the EliteBook 805 series, HP is set to debut three models featuring AMD processors, portable designs and long battery life.
The models include the 13.3-inch EliteBook 835 G7 (pictured), with a starting weight of 2.75 pounds, a thickness of 0.71 of an inch and battery life of up to 24 hours on a charge. The other two models are the 14-inch EliteBook 845 G7 (starting at 2.93 pounds) and the 15.6-inch EliteBook 855 G7 (starting at 3.74 pounds).
The EliteBook 805 notebooks feature AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Series processors (up to the eight-core Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U) along with AMD Radeon VEGA graphics.
HP is touting the EliteBook 805 series as the "thinnest and lightest AMD-based mainstream business notebooks," and promoting the EliteBook 835 as offering the "longest battery life in an AMD-based mainstream business notebook."
HP's EliteBook 805 G7 series notebooks are planned for availability in August. Pricing was not disclosed.
EliteBook 800 G7 Models
HP's EliteBook 800 G7 series will include one convertible model, the EliteBook x360 830 G7, along with three clamshell models.
Key features on the x360 830 G7 include optional LTE connectivity, making the device the "first mainstream business convertible with 4x4 LTE antennas," according to HP. The convertible notebook includes a 13.3-inch touch screen with optional Sure View Reflect and an 82 percent screen-to-body ratio.
The clamshell models include the EliteBook 830 G7 (pictured) with a 13.3-inch display, 85 percent screen-to-body ratio, optional Sure View Reflect, up to 23 hours of battery life (a 22 percent increase over the previous generation) and optional LTE connectivity. HP is also calling the 800 G7 series notebooks its lightest in the series to date, with the 830 G7 starting at 2.75 pounds.
The new 800 series also includes the 14-inch EliteBook 840 G7 and the 15.6-inch EliteBook 850 G7, which likewise offer optional Sure View Reflect and optional LTE. On performance, the 800 G7 series notebooks can be configured with up to a six-core, 10th-generation Intel Core vPro processor.
HP's EliteBook 800 G7 series clamshell notebooks are planned for availability in June, with pricing starting at $1,399. Availability for the EliteBook x360 830 G7 is planned for July, with pricing starting at $1,419.
