WATCH: CRNtv Tests Out Wearable Tech, Connected Devices And More At CES2019

CES2019 continues in Las Vegas. At Pepcom’s Digital Experience event, wearable technology, connected devices and artificial intelligence were on full display.

Here’s a roundup of some of the coolest devices we saw:

Music Not Impossible

Phoenix-based Avnet and Not Impossible Labs have joined together to create the Music Not Impossible device. The wearable includes a vest, wrist bands and ankle bands that use Vibrotextile technology that can vibrate to the beat of live music. The device was initially targeted towards the deaf community, but it’s turned out to be a hit among the general public as well.

Maven Pet Tracker

The MavenPT Platform by CargoSense provides pet owners with a full view of their pet’s status while in transport. The device attaches to your pet’s crate. From the company’s app, pet owners can monitor the temperature their pet is experiencing both in cargo and on the tarmac. They can also check the location of their pet’s crate in the event they get separated at their final destinations. CargoSense CEO Richard Kilmer says the technology has already proven to be a success in the pharmaceutical industry, who uses CargoSense to monitor drugs in transit.

Oledcomm LiFi

Move over WiFi, it’s time for LiFi. Unlike WiFi, which uses radio frequencies to create an internet connection, LiFi uses light signals from an LED bulb. In 2018, the company launched the MyLiFi lamp, which provides a personal internet connection. The new LiFiMax mounts on a ceiling and provides up to 16 dongle-equipped users with an internet connection. Oldecomm says LiFi has the power to make the internet connection faster and more secure than WiFi.
