WATCH: HP Discusses New Chromebook, Quantum Dot Tech And More Offerings At CES2019

HP launched a number of devices and upgrades at CES 2019. Mike Nash, chief technologist and vice-president of HP’s Customer Experience for Personal Systems, discussed the news in an interview with CRNtv. Here’s a roundup of the news:

HP Spectre Folio

The HP Spectre Folio, launched last October, is now available in burgundy. It also comes with a 4K option. The leather-bound 2-in-1 was previously only available in Cognac Brown.

Chromebook 14

The new Chromebook 14 is the first AMD-based Chromebook to hit the market, according to Nash. It comes with integrated Radeon graphics, running on either an AMD A4 or A6 processor with nine hours of battery life. It arrives in January starting at $269.

Pavilion Quantum Dot Display

The new HP Pavilion 27 is HP’s thinnest display yet measuring just 6.5mm thickness. The Quantum dot technology is the manipulation of micro-crystals that generates over a billion color variations. Nash says the result is a stunning visual experience: “Super high, great resolution, but of course also great color accuracy.”

Sure View Technology

HP has brought its Sure View integrated privacy screen to a 23.8-inch monitor for the first time with the launch of the HP EliteDisplay E243p Sure View Monitor. Sure View will also be available in the new all-in-one PC, the EliteOne 800 G5. Nash says Sure View is perfect for those working in shared workspaces: “What’s really cool about the third generation of third view is when you are looking straight onto the screen the image is awesome. But, when you are not in front of the screen and you’re a person walking by, our ability to protect that information has never been better,” said Nash.
