WATCH: HP’s Enrique Lores Weighs In On The Managed Print Services Boom At HP Reinvent 2019

HP’s President of Imaging and Printing Enrique Lores discusses the latest ways HP is helping partners find success with managed print services.

HP is the world’s number one print vendor. At Reinvent 2019, the company’s annual partner conference, Enrique Lores, president of Imaging and Printing, said the success is largely due to the company’s investments in digital printing and managed print services (MPS). Lores discussed the shift to services in an interview with CRNtv.

Tell us about the growth you’ve seen in managed print services in the partner community.

Lores: “We think that services are going to be the big transformation that this business will go through in the next years and this will happen across all segments. In the business space, managed print services is how we see the business evolving and we are seeing partners starting have to strong traction with it. Many are starting to evolve their business model to become service partners. Some of them are building fully on their own and in other cases they are partnering with us and leveraging our services. But we see the key partners moving in that direction.”

How are you continuing to build on that success with your latest announcement, HP Smart Tasks?

Lores: “What we have seen is that customers don’t want printers any more they want solutions that can help them improve their productivity. This is how we design HP Smart Tasks. We will look at small and medium sized companies. We look at what they are doing with a printer and we build a smart tasks to help them simplify this process. So, from an application on the phone they can design what they want to file and if they want to upload a document to a file in the cloud, they can do that by just pushing a button.”
