WATCH: HP’s Nick Lazaridis On The Everything-As-A-Service Revolution

It’s an everything-as-a-service revolution at HP Inc., which is transforming its business operations to meet the demand of the mobile customer. And partners are getting the message. At HP Reinvent 2019, HP’s president of the EMEA region, Nick Lazaridis, discussed HP’s strategy and successes in an interview with CRNtv.

“I think services or ‘everything-as-a service” is dramatically accelerating across Europe, Middle East, Africa and across the world, in fact,” said Lazaridis. “We are seeing the move from a transactional business model to a contractual business model accelerating. All our partners know that, and many are far down the track with that.”

Partners like PBS Business Solutions are seeing the benefits. Alan Medcalf, managing director of PBS Business Solutions, based in the U.K., has added services to his security offerings in light of the General Data Protection Regulation.

“We had GDPR, so that arrived in May and since that went live—pretty much at the top of everyone’s agenda is security. And how we’ve handled it with HP has been phenomenal because we are no longer putting what we would call a multi-function product onto a network, but we are putting a security device into a network,” explained Medcalf. “And, once you can get the customer to buy into it, some of the tools we can wrap around it are key to identifying vulnerabilities on the network. And, all of a sudden you make your proposition a lot more valuable with HP.”
