CDW Carrier Services Boss Named Channel Chief At XO

Shane McNamara, most recently general manager of carrier services at CDW, will lead the XO Business Partner Program and have responsibility for XO indirect sales through agents, partners and VARs.

McNamara will report to Mike Toplisek, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Business Services at XO, who cited McNamara's more than 14 years of experience working with telecom companies and channel partners.

"Shane brings both a deep knowledge of the industry and key relationships and will be a great addition to our sales leadership team," Toplisek said in a statement e-mailed to CRN.

McNamara is credited with growing CDW's indirect carrier channel sales more than 40 percent over the last three years. Before CDW, McNamara was director of indirect channels for Global Crossing and held several other channel-facing positions there, too.

The channel chief role at XO has been vacant since April, when Brian Law, vice president, indirect services, resigned in April. XO has seen a number of major executive changes in recent months, not least the resignation of XO Holding President and CEO Carl Grivner.
