LiveAction Eyes Platform Expansion With Acquisition Of Savvius
LiveAction has taken a major step toward building a fully integrated network management platform with the acquisition of network diagnostics specialist Savvius.
Palo Alto, Calif.-based LiveAction, an enterprise network management and visibility player, intends to use the acquisition to build a complete network performance monitoring and diagnostics platform, the company said in a statement.
The acquisition will allow Savvius – based in Walnut Creek, Calif. – to more quickly develop its Omnipliance, Omnipeek and Insight products while broadening LiveAction's presence in the enterprise market and in multi-vendor environments, the company said.

Both companies have been busy in the channel recently. LiveAction last year launched a new managed service provider program that allows MSPs to take advantage of the firm's LiveNX network performance analytics platform. The platform provides situational awareness, semantics-based analysis and modeling for continuous network insight, troubleshooting and service assurance.
Also last year, Savvius launched its PartnerOne program as it looked to expand from the high-end data center to the smal- and midsize enterprise market.
Savvius sells a packet-based appliance, as well as software solutions used for network performance diagnostics. LiveAction's platforms are used for network performance visibility, SD-WAN visualization, voice and video monitoring and quality of service configuration.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
