After 20 years at the helm of Cisco Systems, John Chambers is stepping down from his role as CEO this summer. Taking the reins as the new Cisco CEO is Chuck Robbins, a 17-year Cisco veteran and former U.S. channel chief. The choice was applauded by many Cisco partners, who view Robbins as an ideal leader for the channel as Cisco transitions partners to sell more software and services.
Following the announcement, Robbins, who is being referred to as the "partners' choice," said that he sees channel expansion ahead as Cisco takes aim at becoming the No. 1 IT company in the world.
