NetApp Doubles Down On Data Protection With Veeam, Rubrik

At Insight 2019, CRN learns how NetApp is opening up its APIs to work with an ecosystem of partners on data protection.

NetApp has strengthened its data protection portfolio via new integration with Rubrik and Veeam.

“That’s the great thing about them, they tend to partner really well with all of the ecosystem of partners,” said Chad Hodges, executive vice president of Enterprise Networking Solutions. “They work with all of these backup vendors to develop open APIs that allow service providers like me to come into a customer organization and seamlessly work with them to get their data and move it wherever it is in a safe way.”

CRN spoke with Hodges at Insight 2019, where Veeam and NetApp unveiled new integration for the Veeam Availability Orchestrator. The Veeam Availability Orchestrator provides businesses with the capabilities to ensure availability for virtual, physical and cloud-based workloads in the hybrid cloud.

“Over the past few years, we’ve built our partnership as opposed to meeting in the field to now working with NetApp to put Veeam on their global price list. By being on the global price list, it embraces the sellers, it embraces the channel so they can retire their quota and take everything that Veeam has done to become the billion-dollar powerhouse that we are in data protection back to their customers and assist them on their journey with data protection,” said Carey Stanton, vice president of global business and corporate development at Veeam.

NetApp is also working with Rubrik to enable channel partners of both companies to easily attach Rubrik's data management offerings to NetApp's hybrid multi-cloud platform.
