CES 2015: Dell Showcases 5 Cool New Products
Dell Joins The Party
Heading into CES, Dell was expected to roll out some new and innovative devices with unique specs. The company delivered with a slew of devices for both consumers and professionals, many of which come with unique, standard setting features and measurements.
Dell invited professionals from all sorts of industries, including publishing and music production, to talk about how helpful the new products were when they were given the opportunity to beta test them.
Here are five cool products Dell launched today.
Venue 8 7000 Tablet
At just 6mm, the Dell Venue 8 7000 is the thinnest tablet in the world. It is even thinner than some of the most popular new smartphones on the market. The tablet has a durable aluminum casing, so those measurements don't make it less resistant to drops or bumps. The screen is an 8.4-inch, 2,560-x-1,600 edge-to-edge OLED infinity display. The Dell tablet is also the first consumer device to feature the new Intel RealSense Snapshot Depth Camera, which incorporates a depth map to every picture taken.
The device is available today for $399.99.
XPS 13 Laptop
Dell boasts that the XPS 13-inch laptop is the smallest 13-inch laptop in the world. The company managed to pack a 13-inch display on a body of a laptop normally with an 11-inch screen. It accomplishes this by having an exceptionally thin 5.2mm bezel around the edge of the screen. The laptop has 15 hours of battery life, the longest of any 13-inch notebook, and can come with an UltraSharp Quad HD+ infinity display. This device runs on a Fifth-Generation Intel Core processor and is available today for $799.99.
Inspiron 13 7000
The Inspiron 13 7000 is a 13-inch 2-in-1 laptop that features a 360-degree hinge. It has a True Color high-resolution display. Its big brother, the new Inspiron 15 7000, has a 15.6-inch 4K display and runs on a Fifth-Generation Intel Core processor. Both devices feature a touch screen. The 15 7000 is available today for $1,099.
The Inspiron 13 7000 will launch in March. Details on pricing have not yet been revealed.
XPS 15
The new XPS 15 laptop has an UltraSharp 4K Ultra HD touch display, which Dell said has the highest resolution panel available on a 15-inch laptop today with its 8 million pixels. High-resolution displays are a recurring theme at CES 2015, and Dell did more than its part to keep up. The XPS 15 will sell for $2,349 and is promised to be coming soon with no official release date yet set.
Alienware 15 And 17
Dell launched two new Alienware laptops today at CES, the company’s high-powered gaming systems. Both devices have an Intel Core i7 processor and boast Nvidia GTX 980m graphics. The pair are 20 percent thinner than their previous models.
Both new laptops are available today. The 15-inch Alienware laptop retails for $1,199, while the 17-inch models sells for $1,499.
