Cloud service providers and technology vendors came to AWS re:Invent with a plethora of new integrations for Amazon Web Services environments, and new services geared toward business users who are incorporating offerings from the world's largest cloud giant in their own IT environments.

MongoDB Joins AWS Marketplace, Adds New Features
Database startup MongoDB has launched its database as a service offering, MongoDB Atlas, on the AWS Marketplace. MongoDB Atlas is now available across 14 AWS regions.
The New York-based company also unveiled several enhancements to MongoDB Atlas to give customers improved performance, resilience and efficiency in the cloud. The new enhancements include cross-region replication for MongoDB Atlas, which lets users build globally distributed applications without multiple data center configurations, and Performance Advisor, a feature that give customers a way to see how to improve query runtimes without adding more resources.
Dataguise Brings Data Auditing To Amazon Environments
Data protection specialist Dataguise is showing off its newest data-centric audit and protection software for the cloud for the first time at AWS re:Invent.
DgSecure, according to the Fremont, Calif.-based company, helps businesses move to the cloud by identifying and monitoring sensitive data across on-premises and cloud environments, putting control of various data privacy mandates in the hands of business leaders and their IT teams. Dataguise DgSecure supports sensitive data detection and monitoring on Amazon Redshift, RDS and S3.
Cloudera Introduces Latest Altus Service
Cloudera, a developer of hybrid open-source software, revealed the beta version of a new service that lets customers bring together disparate data sources in the cloud and provide a shared data experience for more powerful business intelligence and analytics, according to the Palo Alto, Calif.-based provider.
Cloudera Altus Analytic DB is built on the company's Altus Platform-as-a-Service offering. The new service gives customers self-service business intelligence and SQL analytics on demand, which will let businesses easily manage security, governance, and costs associated with the cloud.
SolarWinds Rolls Out Cloud Portfolio
Managed services provider SolarWinds took to Re:Invent to unveil its new portfolio, SolarWinds Cloud. The newest portfolio includes a full stack of solutions that will give customers visibility into logs, metrics and tracing, as well as the digital experience, according to the Austin, Texas-based company.
SolarWinds Cloud will include AppOptics, a new application and infrastructure monitoring solution, an updated Papertrail solution, its cloud-hosted log management offering, and an enhanced Pingdom tool for digital experience monitoring.
Stratoscale Reveals AWS-Compatible Services
Stratoscale, a software company and hyper-converged infrastructure player, is unveiling Chorus, a set of AWS-compatible cloud services for running and scaling cloud-native applications within premises-based environments.
Stratoscale Chorus, according to the company, will help enterprises with their hybrid IT strategies. The services will help businesses take advantage of their on-premises environments, including their own data centers, while modernizing them to accommodate cloud-native applications, rather than pick between the two.
RightScale Shows Off Cloud Comparison Tool, New AWS API
Cloud management provider RightScale is updating its Cloud Comparison Tool, a free offering, during AWS Re:Invent. The company is also putting its cloud management platform on display at the show, which lets users manage their cloud infrastructure and services. Alongside the keynotes, RightScale will be adding a new API to the platform.
The Santa Barbara, Calif.-based company specializes in managing cloud environments spanning across multiple providers, including public cloud behemoths such as AWS and Google.
Genesys Integrates With Amazon Lex
Call center provider Genesys is unveiling a new integration with AWS that will improve natural language processing and AI capabilities for Interactive Voice Response (IVR) for its cloud contact center solution, PureCloud, the Daly City, Calif.-based company said.
The integration lets customers build and maintain conversational IVR to route calls more effectively, decreasing the number of calls and interactions between businesses and customers. PureCloud customers will also now be able to take advantage of the capability of Amazon Lex to better understand natural language, Genesys said.
Aqua Security Offers Pay Per Scan Service for AWS
Aqua Security, a company that is helping businesses secure their virtual container environments, has unveiled a pay per scan, on-demand vulnerability scanning service for AWS customers that build or store container images on AWS or on-premises.
The latest service lets customers identify vulnerabilities and security issues in container images before they are run. Users are charged via their AWS accounts, the company said. The Aqua Vulnerability Scanner for AWS is now available via the AWS Marketplace.
Digi International Makes IoT Push
Digi International, a provider of machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity services, announced at AWS re:Invent that it has been added as an Advanced tier Technology Partner within the Amazon Web Services Partner Network and has achieved AWS IoT Competency status. As such, the provider is integrating its offerings with AWS IoT edge services such as AWS IoT and AWS Greengrass.
According to the Minnetonka, Minn.-based company, the new integration will let customers easily and securely connect edge devices with cloud applications through AWS.
Chef Updates AWS OpsWorks for Chef Automate
Automated cloud management provider Chef has revealed new features for AWS OpsWorks for its Chef Automate (OWCA) offering, which the company first introduced in 2016.
According to Chef, new features includes AWS-native InSpec compliance assessment and remediation capabilities and Habitat Builder support for EC2. Chef Compliance, a compliance-as-code feature in Chef Automate, will also be available to OWCA customers. Chef said that the latest functionality addresses users’ compliance and containerized application life-cycle control concerns.
