9 Cool New PCs In Dell's Commercial Lineup
Dell's Spring Commercial Launch
Dell is going big on performance with its latest commercial PC launch. For starters, the company is refreshing its lineup of Precision mobile workstations to include options such as Intel Core i9 processors, Nvidia and AMD graphics and an unheard-of 128 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, Dell is debuting new Latitude business notebooks with available six-core Intel chips and up to 32 GB of RAM. The company is also offering powerful processor and memory configurations for its new OptiPlex line of desktops, including two new all-in-one OptiPlex models with an optional 4K display.
What follows are nine cool new commercial PCs that Dell is launching this spring.
Precision 5530
Dell says the Precision 5530 is its smallest 15-inch mobile workstation, as its size is closer to that of a 14-inch laptop and its weight is just below 4 pounds. The Precision 5530 provides massive horsepower thanks to faster memory (up to 32GB DDR4, 2,666MHz) and Intel's eighth-gen H Series processors, including a Core i9 option (the i9-8950HZ, six cores, up to 4.6GHz) along with Core i7 and i5 options. For graphics, the mobile workstation features Nvidia Quadro P1000 or P2000 with 4 GB of GDDR5 dedicated memory. Display options include FHD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution and 4K/UHD (3,840 x 2,160, with touch screen).
The Dell Precision 5530 will be available May 22 with a starting price of $1,449.
Precision 5530 2-in-1
Dell is also launching a convertible model of the Precision 5530 -- which will be the first 2-in-1 Precision model to hit the market so far. Along with having a touch screen, so the workstation can be used in modes such as tablet and stand, the Precision 5530 2-in-1 comes with the Dell Premium Active Pen, which attaches magnetically to the side of the notebook. The workstation won't offer the same processor options as the clamshell model, with quad-core processors in Intel's G Series (Core i7 and i5) instead of the H Series. But the 2-in-1 model does offer a different graphics selection -- AMD's Radeon Pro WX Vega M GL with 4 GB of HBM2 RAM.
The Dell Precision 5530 2-in-1 is expected to be available in July or August of this year. Expected pricing has not been released yet.
Precision 7530
Dell says the 15.6-inch Precision 7530 includes a redesigned chassis with reduced dimensions. The changes include thinner bezels around the display and the weight now down to 5.75 pounds, compared to the 6.3 pounds of its successor (the 7520). The workstation's strong performance comes from Intel eighth-gen H Series processors, up to the Core i9-8950HK, along with up to 128 GB of 2,666MHz RAM or up to 32 GB of 3,200MHz RAM. Graphics options include Nvidia's Quadro Pro P3200 with 6 GB of GDDR5 memory and AMD Radeon Pro WX 4150 with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory. And for storage, the Precision 7530 offers up to 6 TB of PCIe SSD. Display options include FHD touch screen or non-touch, as well as 4K/UHD non-touch.
The Dell Precision 7530 will be available May 22 with a starting price of $1,189.
Precision 7730
The Precision 7730 features many of the same performance specs as the 7530, but with a 17.3-inch display that has UHD/4K, FHD and HD resolution options (no touch screen availability). The Precision 7730 is primed for work in virtual reality, artificial intelligence and machine learning with its processor options including the Intel Core i9, up to 128 GB of RAM and an array of graphics choices. The Precision 7730 can be outfitted with more-powerful graphics than the 7530, with possible selections including Nvidia's Quadro P5200 with 16 GB of GDDR5 memory, Quadro P4200 with 8 GB of GDDR5 and AMD Radeon Pro WX 7100 with 8 GB of GDDR5. The mobile workstation also supports up to 8 TB of storage with up to four M2 PCIe solid-state drives.
The Dell Precision 7730 will be available May 22 with a starting price of $1,509.
Latitude 5491
Dell's Latitude 5491 aims to serve as a workhorse business laptop with up to a six-core Intel Core i7 processor from the eighth-generation H Series, Nvidia GeForce MX130 graphics and up to 32 GB of RAM. The 14-inch notebook has a touch screen option and has also been designed to dissipate heat differently for an improved user experience, with the fans located on the back of the laptop rather than on the side. Security features include a fingerprint reader, smart card reader and optional infrared camera for Windows Hello facial recognition.
The Dell Latitude 5491 will be available May 17 with a starting price of $899.
Latitude 5591
Along with having a larger display at 15.6 inches, the Latitude 5591 has one other key difference from the 5491: The notebook offers more battery options, including a 92WHr battery providing up to 20 hours of battery on a charge. Otherwise, the notebook is similar with strong performance via Intel eighth-gen H Series processor options, Nvidia GeForce MX130 graphics and up to 32 GB of RAM; a touch screen display option; and a range of security features including a fingerprint reader and optional infrared camera.
The Dell Latitude 5591 will be available May 17 with a starting price of $999.
OptiPlex 7460 AIO
This all-in-one PC offers a 23.8-inch display with a thin bezel "InfinityEdge" design and a screen that is 14 percent thinner than in the past. The OptiPlex 7460 offers FHD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution with an optional touch screen, a variety of ports (including USB-C and USB-A), an optional pop-up webcam and an infrared camera to support Windows Hello facial recognition. The PC also includes eighth-gen Intel Core processors with up to six cores for the Core i5 or Core i7, optional Intel vPro, up to 32 GB of RAM and optional Intel Optane memory for faster storage performance.
The Dell OptiPlex 7460 AIO will be available May 22 with a starting price of $1,129.
OptiPlex 7760 AIO
This all-in-one includes many of the features and capabilities of the OptiPlex 7460, but with a 27-inch display size. Dell says the thin bezel "InfinityEdge" design allows the OptiPlex 7760 AIO to have a size more akin to a 24-inch all-in-one. Differences from the smaller version include an option for a UHD/4K screen (3,840 x 2,160 resolution, non-touch) with an anti-glare coating, in addition to the FHD configuration (touch or non-touch). The OptiPlex 7760 features an articulating stand so that the display can be adjusted to lay nearly flat.
The Dell OptiPlex 7760 AIO will be available May 22 with a starting price of $1,299.
OptiPlex 5060 Micro
The ultra-small form factor of the OptiPlex 5060 Micro -- 7.2 x 1.4 x 7 inches -- allows it snap into the stand of a Dell monitor. That can save space and give users an all-in-one experience, with the added benefit of being able to upgrade the unit in the future as refreshed models are released. The OptiPlex 5060 Micro also includes support for the Intel Unite conferencing software, and features a USB-C port along with Intel's eighth-gen processors (up to six cores).
The Dell OptiPlex 5060 Micro will be available May 22 with a starting price of $599.99.
