ServerCentral, AWS Advanced Consulting Partner Turing Group Come Together To Meet Hybrid Cloud Demand

Managed IT infrastructure provider ServerCentral has acquired Turing Group, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Consulting Partner.

Chicago-based Turing Group, an authorized commercial reseller and authorized government reseller for AWS alongside its Advanced Consulting Partner status, is joining forces with ServerCentral to help meet the mounting demand the two companies are seeing for hybrid cloud solutions. The new entity will be called ServerCentral Turing Group.

"ServerCentral Turing Group is uniquely positioned to help companies successfully move to the cloud, no matter how aggressively or measured they wish for that transition to be," Brendan Caulfield, co-founder, managing partner and COO of Turing Group, told CRN.

Terms of the deal are not being disclosed. The acquisition comes one year after ServerCentral made a minority investment in Turing Group, which was founded in 2013.

ServerCentral realized it needed both data center and public cloud expertise to better compete in a world clambering for hybrid cloud services, the company said in a statement.

ServerCentral, founded in 2000, provides global managed data center and network services. Turing Group, on the other hand, brings the AWS expertise to the new company.

"What customers have with ServerCentral Turing Group (SCTG) is a single, trusted partner," Caulfield said. "From strategy, to the data center, to the cloud, to software development, we have the practices and experience to serve customers throughout this lifecycle."

Combined, ServerCentral Turing Group is now offering cloud strategy development services, global managed data center and network services, IoT device management and analytics managed IT infrastructure services and managed cloud services, including private and public AWS and VMware services.

"We will be significantly involved with our customers’ teams and their unique strategic objectives and the tactical operations to make them a reality," Caulfield explained.

Turing Group's entire team will be joining the new company, and together, ServerCentral Turing Group will have 120 employees -- about 90 from ServerCentral and 30 from Turing Group. In 2017, ServerCentral had roughly 80 employees and Turing Group had just under 20, according to Caulfield.
